As an Assistant Sommelier, you will play a key role in supporting the wine service operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Your responsibilities will include:
Reporting directly to the Head Sommelier, assisting in the overall management of the wine program.
Organizing wine tastings to enhance guest enjoyment and wine knowledge.
Ensuring all bars are properly set up and ready to provide excellent service to guests.
Maintaining the wine cellar’s efficient operation, including its cleanliness, temperature control, and proper storage and organization of wine inventories.
Your Skills & Experiences To succeed in this role, you should bring:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position within an international luxury brand.
Proficiency in English for clear communication with guests and colleagues.
An Introductory Level Sommelier Certificate, demonstrating your foundational expertise in wine.
A strong understanding of wine, wine service procedures, and inventory control processes.
Working knowledge of MICROS systems and MS Office programs.
Multicultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
A creative, outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to flexible working hours in a fast-paced environment.
